MGGA Applauds Evidence-Based Guidelines for Dietary Guidelines for Americans
Great Falls – USDA and the Department of Health and Human Services released the new Dietary Guidelines earlier this week. These guidelines will assist healthcare professionals and law makers for the next five years
Montana grain producers are well known for their high quality grains of wheat and barley. Producers strive to maintain and produce an abundant supply of raw materials to produce healthy food products.
MGGA President Mitch Konen said, “As Montana grain producers, we applaud the work done by the departments- they’ve created evidence-based guidelines in order to promote health by meeting nutrient needs while reducing the risk of chronic disease.” Konen added, “The consumption of whole grains and enriched refined grain products, such as breads, cereals and pasta, are all part of a healthy diet.”
