2019 Market Facilitation Program (MFP)

On July 25, 2019, U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue announced details of the $16 billion package aimed at supporting farmers who are being harmed by the current U.S.-China trade war. MFP payments for non-specialty crops will be based on a single county payment rate multiplied by a farm’s total plantings of MFP-eligible crops in aggregate in 2019. Per-acre payments are not dependent on which of those crops are planted in 2019. Find your county payment rate here.

Payment Timeline – The first payment will be be made in mid-to-late August and will be the higher of either 50 percent of a producer’s calculated payment or $15 per acre. If conditions warrant, a second payment will be made in November, and a third in early January. Sign-up begins on Monday, July 29th and will end on December 6th.

To Apply – Call your county FSA office to make an appointment. Or download the MFP Application (CCC-913) and drop the completed form at your county office or submit by fax, mail, or email.
