Mitch Konen
President

Mitch Konen is a born and raised third generation farmer from the Greenfields Irrigation Project located around Fairfield, Montana. Malt barley production is the primary crop raised on his farm along with wheat and canola and cattle along with some outlying dryland wheat and hay production. He and his wife Susie have raised three children on the farm with one of their sons remaining to work on the farm. After graduating from Montana State University with a B.S. in Ag Business and Economics he began his farming career partnered with his father until his retirement. He has been a member of MGGA for nearly 30 years and is the current 2021 president.

Tryg was born and raised in the Flathead Valley where he worked on several different farms through out his high school years. He attended MSU-Norther in Havre, MT where he received a degree in Ag mechanics, Diesel Mechanics and Welding. He is the co-owner of Heritage Custom Farming and Creston Seed Sales in the Flathead. They farm about 2200 acres of small grains, forage, and oil seed crops and spend a lot of time tending to the small acreage needs of the Flathead Valley.

Nathan Keane grew up in the suburbs of St. Paul, MN married a farmer’s daughter and has farmed with his father-in-law, Kerry Upham, for the past 14 years on a 4th generation homestead near Loma, Montana. With a bachelor’s degree in Business from the University of Northwestern in Saint Paul and a background in sales, Nathan brings this experience to the family farm as it has transitioned from primarily winter and spring wheat crops to growing a host of alternative crops. He and his wife, Dianna, have three young children. Nathan serves on several community boards and is the current District 5 Grain Grower’s board member and holds the Treasurer officer position. In his free time, he enjoys snowmobiling, hunting, fishing, and playing music.

Boyd was born in Havre, Montana but has spent the majority of his life on a beautiful farm just south of Moore.  He split his high school days between Moore and Hobson before heading to Montana State in Bozeman. Boyd received his bachelors degree in AG Business in 1994 then returned home to the farm. He is a proud father of two children Hailey and Hayden. He is also proud to be a grandpa of two beautiful granddaughters Kali Rose and Ella Lynn. Boyd has a passion for the game of Basketball and was a coach for the Moore Bulldogs and Tri-City Titans for 9 years. He was also on the Central Ag Research Advisory Committee for 4 years. In the off times he works as an Independent Crop Adjuster. His hobbies include playing golf and promoting Agriculture with MGGA.

Vince Mattson owns/operates a diversified dryland farm north of Chester, MT with his wife, 2 children and parents.  He is a graduate of Montana State University and The Executive Program for Agricultural Producers (TEPAP) program.  He has previously served as Farm Bureau County President for Hill/Liberty/Blaine counties, and most recently just served as President of the Montana Grain Growers Association.  He also serves on several different advisory boards within the agri-business arena.  Vince is a 4th generation farmer that grows HRW, Durum, Lentils, Chickpeas, and Flax to name a few.
